Looks and performs like new, better than I expected. Difference in price is dramatic so you can buy two used for the price of one new. I think that 10 year like is a reasonable estimate of useful life for this model. The monitors came with all hardware and a VGA cable, and they functioned very well. I don't think I'd recommend it as a stand alone display, though depending on your use, it could still be adequate. I bought this refurbished to use as a pivoting 2nd monitor. I would say it's not a great overall monitor, but it has a niche it fits well.
Other Thoughts: Know what you're going to use this monitor for before you buy it. Not enough complaints to take an egg off. Since I also have a big widescreen monitor, this isn't a problem most of the time since I can just use my other monitor to work with Excel. I find that wide screen monitors tend be better for excel. If you use Excel, the narrower monitor is not always great for viewing data. Other than that, no noticeable performance issues. Occasionally the monitor will flicker as I quickly scroll through Facebook. I bought this as a second monitor and the vertical shifting allows it line up very nicely with my main widescreen monitor.Ĭons: Lower resolution and expensive if not refurbished. I didn't get a 16:9 pivot monitor because I didn't feel they were wide enough when pivoted. The 4:3 aspect ratio allows for substantially wide resolution when pivoted. It's very useful tilted 90 degrees for getting more content on the page when viewing websites, MS Word, and OneNote.
